Corals & Seahorses

I am interested in buying some tank raised Kelloggi seahorses. I have hammer corals, candies, duncans, etc. What corals can be kept with seahorses safely? I don't have any anemones or other cnidarians that most books say are dangerous to seahorses.

that site he listed is good, gorgonians and plants for them to hang on to are a MUST. make sure that you dont have corals that could damage them (ones that sting)

You don't have to have live corals and plants for hitches, a lot of people use branching rock and fake corals and plants for hitches.

In fact, seahorses can harm live gorgonians and corals that they hitch to, causing them to stop opening and then starve.

Stay away from most LPS and any Cnidarians with stinging tentacles like Euphyllias, and any corals that could consume a seahorse like a large brain coral.

Also stay away from kellogs, they are sadly very poorly bred and so die very quickly.

You get what you pay for, these are cheap and nasty.

No duncans! Their mouths can definately eat a slow-moving seahorse!

i disagree...a Duncan will eat SH fry, but IMHO, IME, they pose no threat to adult, larger species SH.

i'm currently keeping some with my barbouri, and have been for quite awhile. there are also some Dendros in the tank.

I also have some Duncans in with a horse; they have been together for a few months without issue. In fact, my silly Lubbock's wrasse seems to really like the Duncans, and I think any day now he will start burying himself in them like a clown in an anemone.

I've had a seahorse and 2 pipes in a full reef going on 2 years now. I have nems, frogspawn, and tons of other LPS and SPS. Nothing has ever came close to eating/bugging them. As long as they are healthy there should be no problems.
