Corals that sway

Looking for suggestions on a coral that sways, but doesn't take over the tank like weeds (i.e. xenia, clove polyps, etc). Have any suggestions?
 
Yes. The best I can explain is to keep them on their own island....it makes them a lot easier to control. They have a very nice sway to them. Another to consider is a torch coral
 
I love lps, like hammers and frogspawn, or flower pot. Duncan can be very reactive. I am addicted to corals that have large movement. Lps is something your tanks should be established for but if you are consistent and reliable you could be surprised at how easy they are to care for. GSP (green star polyp) is very good with adding movement there are varieties with longer extension and different colors. Many people put them on the back wall of their tanks and isolate them that way.
 
Hammer and frogspawn are two of my favorites, I always have them.
There are a number of color varieties as well.
 
They would fight with zoas, clowns will sometimes host them thinking it's an anem. Other fish general leave them alone.
 
I love my frogspawn and gold torch. They won't take over or move around. Frogspawns are fairly simple to keep. Gsp is another good one, I keep mine in the corner sandbed so it doesn't attach to rock.
 
If you can find an Aussie Elegance coral they will add fantastic movement. Another coral I can think of is the long tentacled plate coral, similar looking to a Torch coral but it has much thicker tentacles.

With all these LPS corals you have to remember they are aggressive and will sting other corals if you give them the chance to, but in my experience as long as you think carefully about their placement they are very easy to keep happy.
 
I have a green torch and it is just beautiful when it sways, esp when the polyps extend out nice and long. Also one I had not seen on here is the bubble coral that can be quite impressive as it gets larger...
 
I would go with a leather. They seem to be easier to keep and are quite cool looking. A toadstool would be my suggestions.
 
For bright coloration, a red goniopora is hard to beat. No target feeding needed, no aggression or stinging problems (at least for me), and many red varieties like the ones raised and sold by ORA are very hardy.

Nothing special, easy to maintain, they are usually my first coral in a new tank.
I keep towards bottom, low to medium light seems best for bright color.
Gorgonians are another fav.
 
I have the same question so I am glad you asked!

Just got my 1st GSP frag - initially the polys seem short (nothing like the long flowing grass you see in established colonies) but I hope that will change with time.

Was planning on hammer and torch too
Thanks to this thread I will look at flowerpot (goniopora)
and Aussie Elegance coral - that is amazing

I second this, although I don't have a red one unfortunately. I have an SPS dominated reef but couldn't resist adding a couple of Gonioporas, I have a green and a blue which is a really nice ice blue kind of colour, it is actually probably my favourite coral in the tank.
