Consider Nonphotosynthetic

Consider Nonphotosynthetic

Lots of good suggestions for lights here.

There are some very pretty corals that are not photosynthetic (no lights required). You have to hand (turkey baster) feed them but If you want to try a coral before you add light consider Tubastrea...

Many of the nephthias are nonphotosynthetic too. Stay away from dendronephthya. If you do well with turbinaria consider chili coral...

If you go this route you are going to be feeding heavily. You will need to keep up on your maintenance. There aren't a lot of people in the club doing this but there is a lot of info available on line. You can convert a no-light aquarium to a lighted aquarium and still keep your no-light corals.
