Anyone have any experience with reef corner tank? Im thinking of downsizing and picking up a corner unit. Any pros or cons from previous experience?

Thanks
Ian

i had a 92g corner unit. i liked it. it had great depth. the most challenging problems are: 1. finding appropriate lighting. i used a 36" t5 fixture to light mine, and 2. finding a suitable sump. i ended up just using a sump outside of the stand. not many typical tanks fit under corner tanks unless they are custom built.

havent seen you on the boards in a while. welcome back.
i dont have any corner tank experience, just wanted to say hi.

I also had a 92 corner. Same problems but I loved it. The magnification of the severely curved glass is cool. The fish get huge as they swim to the back.

I have a drilled 54 and I really like it. I have T-5 lighting, and a custom refug - built by the guys that supply stuff for Ki. I don't see any distortion in the glass, maybe because it is not as wide/deep. It fits nicely into a corner and looks neat and tidy from the outside. It's been set-up for over 8 years.

I like it so much, I just picked up a 36(?) crner bow front off Craig's list and have large goldfish in it in my daughters room

Excellent. Thanks Guys. I may pick one up if the wife has her way.

Keith, always a pleasure. Hope all is well...

I have a 54 rr that is my favorite reef. It is deeper front to back than a aga 180 or 210, which makes for great aquascaping oportunities. t-5 fixture(s) or metal halide/t-5 retro inside the canopy is working well for me(i run a 250 hqi and 2x24 t5) the standard aga corner overflow will handle the flow from a mag 12 at 3 ft head.(barely)

Hey Brian,
What is the demension of the straight glass from the back corner to the side. All demensions on the internet show front to back depth. Thanks!

It is a quarter cylinder, the depth is uniform across the radius, @ 27" outside measurement. If you are wondering for fitment reasons, with my canopy and cofortable room for plumbing/wiring, it sits 32 inches from the corner of the wall to the front of the tank.
