Hi all,

I have a mated pair of clowns currently paired with a Anemone.
I will be upgrading to a much larger tank and wanted to know if, it is possible to get a mated pair of clowns to pair with a different Anemone.
If it is possible, what is the best way to go about it?

The only reason i ask is my current Anemone keeps on splitting. It has happed 6 times now. In my atteched pic there're two Anomones from the last split.

Yes it is possible.

I like to liken it to the following:

I will be over tomorrow morning, before sun rise. Take you and your significant other, cage you, move you out of your home, and cage you into another one.

Clowns have their reasoning for pairing with all sorts of things. From a power head, anemone, torch coral, airstone, and even a mad clam. While we can try to push them toward a different object, it is up to them to feel safe and secure in their object.

Some times it is best to leave it alone and let it pair.

The anemone is splitting because it feels safe and in opportune splitting conditions. Lowering the water temp by 2 degrees can cause the anemone to slowdown/stop splitting. The clown is keeping it clean and fed most likely and those conditions are perfect. Anemone sometimes split when they are threatened and want to make sure the bloodline is continued.

Can you give us a run down on the parameters of the tank?

Not trying to be noisy but a sudden swing in temp of 5 degrees caused my anemone to split once. A different pair of eyes looking from this side of the glass might shed some insight.
