Could this be Macroalgae?

This stuff has been growing out of my GSP for a few weeks now. I think its some type of macro algae but can't confirm it.

Does anyone know what it could be? And if its good or not?

I've got a bunch of snails and no one is touching it.

As far as fish i've got two small clowns and they just stay in their upper corner of the tank and don't wander anywhere near there.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks again!!

Are you sure it's not hair algae? Hair algae is a pest, if that's what it is. You can pull it off of there, it will just keep growing otherwise.

The picture isn't the best but if it is more fern-like then I would think it is a macroalgae and not hair algae. Maybe try clipping off a piece of it and holding it on a white piece of a paper and taking the picture again. That is, unless you want to cultivate it in the tank or something :)

It could be hair algae however its got like branches coming out with this green stuff which sorta looks like hair algae but not nearly as dense. I'll take another pic and post in a little bit.

Now that you scared the c--p out of me I just pulled the rock and plucked out as much as I could carefully trying not to damage the coral. I'm posting a pic just in case its not the bad stuff we thought and maybe I can put it in the sump.

What do you guys think?

Definitely bryopsis that last picture showed it for sure. Those little fern-like leaves. Good luck getting rid of it!

100% sure. Bryopsis.

Thanks for the Bryopsis confirmation. Here I am thinking it was good Macroalgea for a couple of weeks and surprise surprise surprise.

I only found it on that one rock which is covered with GSP. I plucked pretty much all of it off with a tweezer - at least what I could see and now the GSP doesn't want to come back out. I guess I must have stressed it out a bit. Anyways I'm not sure if I should treat the tank with a mag supplement like in the video; only because it was only on that one rock and it was just that branch that was visible.

So should I wait and see if it comes back first? Or go ahead and treat now to be safe. Other option I was thinking about was just getting rid of that one rock with the GSP since thats the only place I saw it. I would hate to get rid of that rock thinking i've solved it and then it pops up somewhere else.

Not sure what to do...
