Couple Coral pics with my XTi

I wanted to share a couple pics I took. I thought they weren't bad considering I took them with the standard 18-55mm lens. I usually shoot in the AV mode. I set my white balance, use a high f-stop (or low.. whatever way you're looking at it) and an ISO of 100. I use a tri-pod and also use the timer to take the pic. Im still very new at teh whole photography thing. I dont have any type of photoshop and most of my pics are just croped.

Very nice pics.

Did you use a "custom" white balance, or one of the presets? I have an XT I'm trying to get used to.

Quite new to my XTI also. Need to learn a lot.
I use the "daylight" WB most of the time.
There is also the trick to put a white object in the tank. Take a pic of it and then there is the option where the camera will use this pic to set your WB. Is explained in the manual.
One of my first shots taken in the TV mode and played around a bit with my software:

I use the custom WB. I take a pic of the sand and not paper in front of the tank because the paper will reflect the florescent lighting in my office and not the tank lighting.

Nice shot Michael.
I have been wanting to play around with the TV mode.

Its probably the best pic Ive ever taken.
