Couple of Vortech questions

Hello,

I have a 65 gallon tank (36"x 18" x 24" tall). I put a Vortech in the back center wall would I be able to run it very high with only 18" to the front glass? I have a shallow sand bed and didn't know how high of current to expect.

I kow your company is based out of PA, but could you tell me where the pumps are made? I try and buy american when possible.

Thanks,

Jeff

I think front to back it would create a huge bar spot all along the front of your tank. I would place it side to side, even then you might have to turn it down.

I have a 180 (72x24x24) with two on the back glass. They both create bare spots in the front unless I have them below 75%.

We have a 36" 70gallon at our office and prefer to use just one pump, although sometimes we run two pumps for fun. You'll be totally fine with one pump though even with SPS. Ideally you should have the pump on the side glass but you could put the pump along the backwall. The negative is that it will blow sand around in this configuration, particularly if the flow is turned up high.

The majority of our product is actually made right here in the Lehigh Valley. We started the company out of Lehigh University and have been in Bethlehem for the past 8 years.
