Hi, I have read the sexing stickies and have 2 breeding pairs right now. I recently bought 3 medium sized ocellaris and was hoping to watch them pair up and then move the 3rd one to its own tank. I watched them over the last 2-3 weeks and have seen the smallest one twitching and quivering like a submissive male.
There are 2 almost the same size that both constantly hang out in the BTA and they kind of push each other by going underneath and pushing their nose against the other one's belly. Then the other one will turn around and do the same.
Tonight I saw the 2 in the BTA come out and swirl around each other and then go face to face and do a little mouthing but not a real "latch on" mouth lock. Do you guys think the 2 larger ones are both females and I should separate them or do you think they are still just trying to find dominance and might still be male but the small one is definitely the submissive (maybe still sexless)
Sometimes one of them comes out and swims over to the smallest one aggressively and the little one does the twitching so I thought they could possibly both be males.
I have another tank and anemone all ready for the odd clown out but don't want to split them if the 2 larger ones are pairing up and the small one is just the second male.
I could try to get video if it would help. Thanks in advance for any input.
