Couple questions on the 9015 in a Rubbermaid sump.

I think I plan to get a 9010 with the 9020.140 extraction unit. I am setting up a 180g reef and plan to have a Rubbermaid 100g sump. How would that work in a sump such as this?? Does the skimmer need to be perfectly level?? I really don't want the skimmer in the tank as it would take up some much needed space. What are your suggestions??

Also, can I utilize some sort of external skimmate collection cup, like I had on my MRC skimmer. When the collection cup got full, it closed off the air and thus shut the skimmer down. And my wife liked not smelling the skimmate in the house.

Down the road I plan to do SPS, but for now, it will be fish and softies.

The skimmer will work fine in a rubbermaid sump. It does have to be pretty close to level though to work. How deep it is in the sump it needs to sit, will depend on whether you use the sump attachments or not.

The foam extraction unit empties into a white sealed bucket which collects all the skimmate.

I personally feel, that this skimmer is undersized for what your wanting to do. Probably will need two of them ( 9020 ) or a real large refugium to help offset.
