Yes, it should still give you that shimmer, since it is bouncing off a highly reflective surface. You'll have to play around with this to find what you like best.

You can always make some acrylic tabs that you affix to a solid surface, and insert the LED bulb through a drilled hole to keep it pointed exactly where you want it.

You can try sanding the led or cutting part of the lens off. Its a popular method of diffusing the beam when modifying car gauge clusters.

Well I just got back from vacation and before leaving I was wondering how I was going to have my tank sitter (who knows nothing about SW) take care of feeding and dosing our tanks. The feeding isn't too hard (you really can't screw that up) but the dosing of the 2 part and the vodka was my biggest concern, I didn't want the tanks to be overdosed. So I called the local pharmacy and put in an order for a bunch of different size syringes (3ml, 5ml and 10ml).

I wonder what was going through the pharmacist mind when I came in to pick all the syringes up.

Then I put some holes in some scrap to make a couple stands for the syringes.

And had my youngest girl remove all the syringes from the wrapper and place them in the stand

Then all I have to do is fill all the syringes with the appropriate amount of calcium, alkalinity, and vodka.

I figured that it wouldn't work out so well but it worked great and now that I have these we are going to continue using them, it's going to make it so much easier to dose, we only refill them every 2 weeks. So it will cut back on the mess.

Yep, they all came with some sort of screw on cap or sheath that keeps them clean.
