Crab Id please.

Can you guys help me ID this hitch hiker and see if I should banish him from the tank. He has hair and good size claws. About the size of a 50c piece. I have seen him in the tnka for awhile and decied to catch him. Only thing i have seen outta place is alot of dead crabs around him. This guy always hides in one rock and i have seen him there for around 3-4 weeks now. Since then i have also noticed skeletons of other hitch hikeing crabs near his rock. No cleaner crews. Im guessing he got to the other crabs. What do you guys think?

Looks like a juvenile gorilla crab or similar one. I would not keep it around things you would like to be in your tank. Throw it into your refugium or humanely dispose of it.

Hes in QT right now. I havent added and rock or things for him to hide in for 9 months. Cant believe i havent seen him sooner.

have you added coral? they can hide in coral too!

last added was 2 frags of sps. 1.5 inch long and no where for him to hide. I know he came with the rock. I found some other smaller when i first got the rock. But they dont last. I find alot of dead skeletons.
