Yeah the first pic does look more like 2 crabs. I didn't notice that before.

Judging by how soft the bigger of the two crabs looks, it looks more like molting than mating.

Yeah, that's actually another hitch hiker crab. the big one clamped onto it, but I never saw it try to eat it.
