Crabs in newly acquired mini SPS colony, do i keep them?

Picked up an Acro colony today and I found some crabs while doing my Lugol's Dip. I placed them in a measuring cup with tank water immediately. Question is are they safe to go back to the tank or should I let them "get gone" ?

Heading to bed soon, so any answers / help would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely a good crab. They're a commensal crab, that are commonly known as "acro crab." Kind of a rare find. About half way down this page, you'll find some information on them. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/acrocompfaqs.htm

Thank you very much. Back in the tank they went. If it is somewhat of a rare find, i was fortunate. Both of them were in the same colony.

I placed one back in the original colony, and the other moved on up to a larger colony. LOL...had to share the wealth. Thank you both so very much for the quick response.

those crbs are good. they will take care of your sps.
