Is this tank scrap? Or can it be fixed?

That part of the trim is pretty much just cosmetic anyhow. The cross braces are the only parts that play a structural role. Curious how it broke though?

Oh thays good to know, i can glue it anyways just in case. I bought it that way. Just wanted to make sure before I filled it with water.

If you are pulling ou the damaged plastic rim, why not get glass eurobracing pieces and make the tank stronger and cleaner looking?

I probably won't do the replacement rim. I don't think I have that skill haha. I would just make a mess and ruin the tank in the process.

If the cracked rim in that spot isnt a big issue, I was just going to glue it and leave it at that.

Over the years, I've had several crack like that when stored outside. The plastic expands/contracts differently than the glass.

Me as well.

I have fixed them with a propane torch and a piece of a old rim from another tank and welded it back together.. I repair our small plastic fishing boat the same way but with Milk Jugs.
Just do it outside because plastic fumes can be toxic they use many different recycled plastics .. most are hpde type

We drag the boat up around at times because we use it in areas that are remote where you cant get a bigger boat into..

I guess if looks matter you can replace it. I have a tank with a similar crack although it looks like someone tried to cut it on mine to me and it works fine but I do have a canopy that covers it. JB Weld will repair it just fine also and I have even used JB Weld to repair center braces.

I use this J-B Weld - Plastic Bonder and it even sandable and has a very high tensile strength of 3770 PSI.
