Crashed my 6100 Mitras!? Help

So the noob that I am, I tried to connect my 6100 to my laptop for the first time...I tried to run through the firmware update and while doing this, I'm not sure I had the right COM port, I got a pop up message that said to disconnect the usb cable since install had failed...when I plugged it back in, the app wouldn't find the 6100...the 6100 itself is currently on, but the LED display is off while the arrows to the right are still lit up...anyone help me to fix this!?

Start by killing the power for a minute, then turn back on

Ok, thanks...I guess I'll brave a firmware update another day. Unplugging it at least let me run the program and connect again, thanks.
