Crazzzy's 450 Gallon Bowfront 600 gallon total

Crazy One

Moved On
OK eveyone I'm soooo excited about getting my new (used)
tank home, I haven't even got it out of the trailer yet!!
I'll get pics up of it tonight , it's going to need some work to get it repolished and scrape all the coralline and algea off of it. But I like doing extra work , it keeps me busy, with all the extra time I have .....not!

I'll keep everyone up to date on it , and accept everyones input or suggestions on the build and hope things go alot smoother
than it usualyy does.
This is going to be a great project for me AFTER I install the back paver brick patio I promised the wife that's first before I start renovating the spare room to accomodate the new tank.
:D :D :D :D :D

Yes Brian , great person to deal with , he was very patient with me picking up the tank. That thing was heavy as hell to go up three flights of stairs but we managed.
I'm trying to figure out how to post some pics of it on here but my photobucket account isn't working right.
I cant wait to get started on clean up on the tank and routering all the old overflow edges down and do some polishing to get it in perfect shape again.:)

When I seen this tank up and running I was literally floored on the size it was, it was exactly what I have been waiting to buy and it couldn't have been better timing.
I wanted a tank that was very thick in either acylic or glass that I knew wasn't going to leak a drop.
I just finished remodeling our home and didnt need it to flood the rest of the house.

Yeah,
You stole that tank out from under me! :-)
I was lined up to buy it from him then no word...no returned calls, nothing! Talk about being blown off! Not too happy I wasted the 3 hours to drive there.....I'll follow along though!

How much did you pay him for it? I hate when people waste your time by promising, then ripping the rug out after you spent all the time and effort.

I didn't steal anything , we agreed that I would be back for the tank that weekend so it gave him enough time to empty everything out and would give me enough time to make room to bring it home. I was told that he had recieved alot of calls on it.

No sweat, not your fault....for $1200, it was bound to go fast....just not impressed with Brian he needs some lessons as to how to treat people.

I wish it was only $1200 bucks,we were originally set on a price but he told me we he was overwhelmed with calls on the tank for more money so I agreed to pay more and that was it take it or leave it. I told him I was interested in getting the new 300 gallon starphire tank or buy that one. Which he told me he wasn't looking too forward to shipping out another tank, he would prefer local pickup.
I sacrificed selling alot of my own collectable things to get this tank.
ON a lighter note I'm sorry you wasted your time driving a long way for a deal that you didn't get.
For the way he treated you, I wasn't there so I'm into that it's none of my buisness.

Well, that explains why he never called back....I had the same impression you did when I saw it.....wow! It is a massive and impressive tank....so much so, that after he never called me back, I decided that my original 265g in planning was gonna be small compared to the 450! So, I am lookin at 6-8 weeks before the 450 arrives from Tenecor! :-) Any idea which skimmer you're going to go with yet? Lighting? He had 600's over it, I was thinking 4 x 400 watts....did you get any live rock with it?

I'm goign to use (6) 72" Vho's with the ice cap ballasts, retro kit . I'm goign to fabricate my own canopy out of a sheet of polished aluminum .50-.60 gauge.
It will be a Fowlr tank with maybe some anenomes for the clowns.
I have a Octopus nw200 but I'm sure that's not going to be close to holding the bio load this tank is going to have.
I didnt get any live rock with the tank , he had a huge prop tank down in the basement with alot of sps in it. the morning I went there to pick up the tank his electric went out and he had a huge flood in the basement. So I forgot to ask him if he was selling any of it. He told me he had alot of the rock flown in right from fiji.
heres a couple pics of my 125 when it was up and running great, since then everything is doing well but out growing the tank fast.

Well, no need for halides if it is a FOWLR....the fish in your 125 will be very happy! How much rock do you think you'll be adding?

Well I just spoke to Rob at aquatica abou tusing Icecap Vhos and told him I wanted to use 672" bulbs but he said it still might not be enough to penetrate through the wate rto the bottom of the tank, So I might have to go with halides but I'm really not that familiar with them except for they throw off alot of heat.
As for the live rock I'll probably take the 100lbs out of my 125 and add another 100-150 lbs just to make some structures.
I just picked up a RO, Di unit and a 100 gallon stand up fiberglass tank from a LFS that unfortunally went out of buisness.
I'll take some pics and post them up here, maybe someone can tell me how good or bad it is. :D

I'm going to have two sumps tied in together .
Is it possible to run two seperate skimmers of the same model at the same time without one pulling more than the other or will it cause a problem?
It's up for grabs between gettting another octopus nw 200 or going with one vortex 2000 or hurricane 2500.
