Yup That Stuff
OMG they redid there coral tanks...and they actually have some SPS and it looks good. kindd looks like pink cats paw but not sure. ofcourse they didnt have any labeled...lol...but they have like 10 clams durasa and maxima some unique colors on some of them actully look really really good. but of course no prices... lol ...but it looks like they might be cleaning up. just thought some peeps would like to know.

Interesting. They've had clams in the 90g (?) corner tanks a lot this fall/winter (that's where I got mine)... never seen any SPS though.

I might have to make a trip out there tomorrow just to check things out.

yea they have all new rock work and no more algea or aptasia that i could see. these new clams arent like the others the are really nice unique looking clams many different colors.

They were ripping the left tank apart last week and had the right one all redone. I got a sun coral the size of a softball for 69 and the guy (manager) said they would be getting a TON of aqua-cult in early next week - all like $25 - I will at least be stopping by Monday

Well I just got back from CC and picked up 2 of the T. Crocea's that they had and the pink sps. Wife went with me and soon as she saw the pink thats all it took. Ill snap some picks soon as they open up..they are acclimating as I type. CC looks like they are making an effort to clean up..we shall see...

So would everyone say it's worth it to stop by and check it out? I wonder if this clean up has anything to do with Petco? I know that some of them carry SW stuff. Do they actually have good lighting on the coral tank now?

Same lighting they always had. I think its ok. Not enough for long term care but if the place cleans up then frags wont stay there long enough to need more light. I believe its their system. Untrained personel as well as the tanks. Things didnt live long and the tanks just didnt look healthy. However, a fresh clean tank means nothing long term. Im guessing it will be back the same way it was in a matter of months. They will get a huge algea bloom and that will be that.

I hope im wrong.

And yea stop by, It was worth my trip.

deff worth the trip...i think there lights are pretty ataquit for what they are using them for. they always mostly have softies and Lps. which require less light. it looks from what i saw that there would be enought light for SPS at the top but not enought to keep them for a long period of time and color them up. but the flow in the tnaks is what worries me...they have one hydor #4 in each 90g corner....lol...Dave VG has 4 #4's in his 90g...lol...i think the corl will be more affected from the lack of flow. but anyways i saved the half brown half baby bue coral last night...i cant think of the name but nate knows and might chime in. it is looking good plyopes fully extended this morning. ill get a pic tonight. i didnt think the polyps would be out so soon cause i did a iodine dip and a RB treatment all last night before i put him in. nice to see that they are getting some good corals in. hummmm....wonder if petco is goin to have saltwater?

I only took a quick look at that coral when I was there on Saturday but it looked like an Acropora hyacinthus. I have never seen a blue one like that so it is either rare or something else :D I will have to come over and take a closer look at it at some point. It is nice looking either way!

Nice to see you back on the boards Ben. Are you up and running again?
Hey Jerry - well sort of - I have a 30 gal high nano set up (was a 20 at work and I moved it home) - just 2x65 PCs so nothing special - have my old clowns in it and a few corals and their rock/flower anemone. Not really enough lighting for much fun, but it is a neet shape tank.

Great job on the zoo tank work by the way (well to all of you involved) !

I was in there at 1PM today and picked up 3 nice pieces form today's shipment. They had some really nice acros and some other interesting pieces......
