Creature ID Please!

Hi everyone, I have a strange creature in my tank that must have come from my Indonesian live rock. Unfortunately I have not been able to get a photo as it is VERY fast and only comes out at night. Anyway, it is about 1 cm ( a little less than 1/2 an inch) long, pale pink and it swims all around the tank very rapidly, never stopping, with a swimming motion a bit like an eel. At first I thought it could be a very small fish but now I don't think so, however I haven't been able to get a very good look at it as it is so fast. Any help would be great,

thanks

Sounds like a polychaete epitoke. IF you do a search on epitoke you'll find a lot of images & discussions on the topic.

Hi LeslieH, thanks for the reply. It could be that indeed. The only difference is that it's smooth and not (visibly) segmented like the epitokes I've just seen. In fact, it reminds me of a lancelet, but I don't know how likely it would be to get one of those in the live rock. Anyway, I'll try my best to get a good photo this weekend.

it could be a lancelet... i got a bunch of them in my tank... I see them swimming/wrigling a night from time to time.... they end up accidentally swimming into a aptasia or small rock anenome and for some strange reason disintegrate on contact... WEIRD...
