CREE XP-E Driver Question

Would it be safe to run the CREE XP-E Royal Blue with the Mean Well LPC-60-1050 constant current driver instead of the Mean Well LPC-35-700? They say the drive current is 1000mA max for the XP-E leds. Rapid Led recommends using the 700 driver with the XP-E but if they can handle the 1050 driver, why not go with the higher current?

I think it is a matter of the current draw and overpowering the output. I have asked them the same thing but not in much detail, I would send them an e-mail and see. They do get back to questions very quickly.

the light isnt much more with more currect i thank it is somewhere around 15 % more but per watt is less make sure you have a good heatsink and fan
