Crisis at 1.00 am

About 5 minutes from going to bed, we hear this weird noise coming from the tank. Running over to look what's up, we see water everywhere. Can't figure out where it's coming from. Shut the tank off to investigate. And can't believe me eyes.....the 6" blue tang jumped into the overflow box, is stuck to the Durso and is making the tank overflow !!!!! For the past 30 minutes we have unsuccessfully tried to fish him out. No luck! The overflow box is too deep to reach the bottom. He is still alive and wedged between the wall and the durso. The canopy is way to heavy for the two of us to lift. Anybody wants to come over and help ?

Oh wow... are you serious? I can come over... not doing anything anyways. Plus I have skinny arms... so that is a plus for helping! Call me up if you need it... I hope you still have my number.

At this point, the only way is to lift the hood and get him out from the back, the problem is that I can't manage that monster hood.

Eric and his brother came by, we lifted the hood up and Eric was able to fish the tang out. Not without getting some fins stuck into his fingers and bleeding pretty bad. The tang is back in the tank, a bit freaked out still, but all is good.

I am still in disbelief over this story. How can a 6" fish jump over a 4" wide lip right into this box, why would he do such a thing? I would have imagined anything but this......

And what's the chance of finding somebody to jump up and run over at 2.30 in the morning?

I haven't figured out how I am going to make this up to Eric, but I'll come up with something.....
