Saw this on my glass and another on the sand tonight while lights out. Never seen this before...good or bad

I'm seeing a bunch coming out of rock work now! Kinda freaking out as I've never seen these before and I've looked at my tank at night quite often

Yeah I assumed so after doing some quick googling. I plucked 3 and put them in the sump. Do you have any idea if they are reef safe?

With nudibrachs they typically look like or resemble what they eat. I can not confidently tell you if yours pictured are reef safe of not, add any pieces of coral or rock lately?

I added a small acro frag probably close to 2 weeks ago. Other than that nothing recently

The one of the glass was clearly grazing on algae. My montiporas looked clear from what I can see. I think they are just algae eaters but can never be too sure

It's a sacoglossan sea slug, not a nudibranch. It will be an algae eater. I can't really tell if it's an Elysia, Oxynoe, or a cousin, but it's not a bad guy.

Cheers,

Don

Ah so they are from Heterobranchia family/group?

How long ago was the tank set up?
When was the last piece of rock or any coral with a frag-plug or base rock added?
Eggs may take a while to develop and then the baby snails have to grow to a size where you can actually see them without a magnifying glass. That can take a few weeks.

The tank was originally set up in May 2014. Upgraded in October 2015, using all the Same rock and added some DRY rock. Last coral with a frag plug was added about 3 weeks ago. Every coral I add is always dipped although eggs I realize may not be killed by dips.
