Crocea burnt by cracked halide, will it survive?

Ive had my crocea for 2+ yrs. THe other day I found one of my halides was cracked, the lights probably ran with the end of the bulb open for about 10 hrs or so before I discovered it. The mantle of the clam looks swollen and discolored. Some of it is not extending at all. One small section looks fairly undamaged, maybe 1/10 of the total.

My question is, what is the ability of clams to recover from being burnt like this? Should I have any hope that it will survive?

I had 1 xm 250w bulb that cracked and killed one side of my 125g tank. I hope your Clam recovers, but no one can say for sure! BTW, what was make of bulb, wattage?

THis was the 2nd XM Ive had break, but the other was about a year ago and no casualties. Im thinking of getting the warranty replacement and selling them so I can get something else.

What you you reccomend for a good 250? Ive tried about everything but liked the XM the most, but after this I don't know if I can trust it. Especially if my poor clam dies, probably my favorite inhabitant.

BTW, since that time (in 250w), I have tried a CV 15k was a good bulb- but, no longer made. they do make a 14k, but it screwed up after 1 month- replacement for it is on the way! I have also tried the halimtons14k , liked color- but growth on corals almost stopped!!!

update -

It seems that the clam is reparing its mantle. Up until a couple days ago pretty much all of the mantle was withdrawn except maybe 1/2 inch on one end. Now the extended area is growing! It seems that the clam was able to withdraw the mantle into the shell and repair/nurse it back to health!! I feel a little reassured that it is at least putting up a fight, but not out of the woods yet.
