crocea byssal q-ton

My crocea got flipped over for an hour or two. When I found it the byssal area was an open hole with some white tissue and a brown "glob" about a centimeter in diameter. I turned it back over and check it a few hours later. It looks like some of the tissue has started to fill the hole back in. My question is if this is normal or if my pgyme angels may have damaged it.

I don't know what caused yours to get flipped or lose it's byssal threads, but I bought a clam who's byssal threads had been completely torn off. I think someone ripped it off a rock before shipping it. There was a hole and you could see through the clam. But it grew them back in about a week or two and is doing just fine.

My camera broke and my husband bought a new one yesterday. I'm hoping he will have it ready to take pictures when he gets home. The clam is a new addition. I figure it flipped when it closed up quickly. My fish do like to swim through that area on their way to the other side of the tank. I hope to get a less disruptive spot once I get a bigger tank.

Good news. I just went to check on the clam and I felt resistence when I tried to lift it. It must be trying to attach to the rock it is on.
