Crocea Clam Jumping

Hi Clam People - I have a question for you experts!

I got my first clam, a Crocea, about a month ago. I started him on the sand with the plan of moving him up the rockwork. He was happy...as a clam...on the sand. I moved him after a week or so 1/4 up the tank - jumped. I put him back - jumped.

So I moved a rock that he could live on to the sand and place him on that. Jumped to the sand. Put him back on it. Jumped to the sand. The rock has a nice little groove that it looks like he could put his foot in but he ain't havin' it.

Should I let him have his way and leave him be on the sandbed? Which is gravelly from Grunge. He is sitting near the corner where he doesn't get much flow. When he jumps he ends up smushing up against the side a little when he's fully open.

Tank is a shallow 6' long 125G with 3 10k 125 MH and supplemented T5 actinics.

Otherwise he seems pretty happy. Just not pleased with moving I guess.

Thanks!

try burying a piece of rock in the sand underneath the clam, give it a week and see if it attach's to the rock. If it does try slowly moving it up the rockwork while attached to the rock.
