I recently purchased a Crocea clam from Chad at Reefscience and its done great. Its been open and mantle out like it should be. I guess it was real happy where its at and attached its foot already. My question is the rock its sitting on was shaped like a wide U at the front and a little narrower at the back. The clam moved a few times towards the narrower section but I moved it forward again in the first day and a half.
It stayed in the front of the rock again for another day and then almost overnight rocked itself back into the narrower part and attached its foot
The problem I see is the place he positioned himself at has made the one side of his shell not able to open up fully like it did before. There is a small lip of rock that juts out at this spot and it hits its shell when open on the one side. It still can open but not fully like it did before it attached itself.
Is there any reason to worry about this and the clams well being? Waited for the tank to settle for close to a year before getting one and now worried I may have placed it in a place I shouldn't have....
