crocea died

I had one of my crocea die on me.It seems it opened up would not close.The flesh seemed kind of dead(not all of it.The base underneath was like an open hole.I don't know why this happened.The clam seemed fine.Is it possible that some of my fish pellets fell into the clam and killed it it just took a few days to do it.I have no clue.My other two clams are fine.My paramaters are good.I just got a dosing unit but I don't see how that could be a problem(unit is in my sump).Does anyone have a clue?Thanks

i dont think it would be the pellets.the dosing unit,are you dosing kalk with it? maybe you have it set to fast and you had a big ph swing.

no its the tunze,so it works when water level goes down.It goes on every so often and shuts off.Does not dose alot of water in one shot,plus other clams are fine.
