crocea foot question

I had purchased a 3 inch crocea about 2 weeks ago, the first day I had it, it had attached itself to the live rock, and about 3 hours later I found it foot floating around. Now it appears the foot has grown back and is now attached again. My question is, is this normal?

Thier byssal threads are like our hair and fingernails they grow them all the time. Also if you cut them they won't feel a thing.
