crocea lifespan?

...is...how long, once they reach max size?

I have a 5" crocea that's flourishing in my tank, and has been for 2 years. It's put on about 5 rows of scutes [had none when I got it] and has not grown since it reached its present size.

Which sets me to wondering how long they do live. I have a 54g tank and if this clam should go without warning it would be pretty bad.

Are there warning signs of clam senescence?
Evidently it's happy and healthy now. It's very expanded and anchored into the rock [finally!]
Advice?

no one really knows. depending on species its been speculated anywhere from a decade or two to a century or two

Oh! Delighted! It's a very handsome blue clam and I'm delighted to know that! Perhaps the fact it grew 5 rows after I got it means it is still a very young clam, and I should bequest it to the Seattle Aquarium in my will!
I'm a great supporter of the notion some of our critters with proper care ought to outlive us, and it looks as if I picked a good species! ;)
