Crocea not doing well (added pic)

First off you will have to forgive my lack of technical terminology knowledge.

My clam has been in my tank for the last 8-10 months and doing great. In the last month my a/c has gone out on the hottest of days and I do not have a chiller. This last time the temp got up to 85, I did my best to keep the temp down but my apartment was above 80 as well so there was little I could do. It was a raised temp for about 24 hours (stupid landlords).

Currently the clam is a little open with the mantle responding slightly to light and to current but the shell does not react to anything. When I look into the shell near the larger of the 2 holes (input siphon?) I can see all the way through the shell. Is the claim already dying? too far gone?

Any suggestions here would be great as I'm really sad to see him like this.

Thanks

thanks for the quick response.

current temp is what I have been keeping at since i had it. Right now it's at 80. It fluctuates from 78-80.

I can try to get a pic up in a minute.

On the bottom is where the hole is all the way through. Sorry it's not a totally clear pic.

the slit is the in-current syphon and the tube is the ex-current syphon. what you are seeing through the in-current syphon is the byssal opening. this is where the clam sticks its foot out and when its open you can see right through it to the substrate.

i would try to keep the temp as stable as you can and ride it out. you do have an excess nutrient issue going on, how are you addressing it?
