My crocea clam has been opening up so far that its mantle falls down against the sides of its shell. Could it be that it is not getting enough light, and thus is over extending?
The params in my tank are good, calcium is at 420, temp is normal (79) etc. The clam is between 3 and 4 inches long, and I have had it for about a month.
I have a 20 Long tank, which is 12 inches deep. The clam rests on the sand. I have an Acqua Medic 150Watt HQI halide light with 1x65w PC actinic supplement. The halide bulb is 20K XM.
Should I move the clam closer to the light? (it is attached to the bottom of my tank :doh!
Should I get a different, warmer colored bulb? (More PAR)
Other than the mantle drooping to the sides, it seems to be doing well. Not gaping or anything.
