I have a crocea clam that today I noticed that the insides like the gills and the rest of the tissuie inside are turning white. My other 2 clams are ok. Its under t5 lighting and Ive had it for about 6mths. All parameters ok Ca475,Alk3.5,Mg1350,ammonia and nitrite 0, nitrate about 10, Phos 0. Any ideas?

If your talking about the inside of the clam they are always white. If your talking about the clam mantle then its probably getting too much light,or not enough.

Tell us more about your set-up.Pics would help too.

Its a 29g and clams sit on the sand they are about 20in down the tank. My maxima and my other crocea both have color inside I always thought that was the zooxenthelle insisde. Everything else looks good its just this one clam.

the gills are quite often white but i have also seen them look off white to brown with no problems before.
