Crocea won't attach!

I have had this clam for two days now, and it won't to the rock! The clam looks ok, opens up, and is responsive. How do I get it to attach? Does it not like the rock or what?

Depends, chances are if it doesn't attatch then it's not liking where it is in your tank. I would also give it more time to attatch. I had mine just sitting in the sandbed in my tank and it was perfectly fine. But then i placed a flat piece of LR down under it and it attatched. Not sure how long it took it to, maybe a week. But i say give it time or try a new spot in the tank to see if that helps.

i agree :) leave him alone for a while, mine took 2 weeks before he stopped jumping off into the sand and finally attached.

Thanks for the info! I noticed that throughout the day, it was attaching threads and pulling itself up. Then about an hour ago it detached and is now on it's side again. I guess I will move it somewhere else and try to prop it up, see what happens.

If it's getting too much current or not enough light they will not attach and try to move.My clams turn and rotate to suit their needs as they would like. Just a thought.

what i usually do is half bury a rock in the sand, then place the clam on the rock and use some sand to prop him up. if they are just on top of a rock and they try to move, they usually end up falling of the rock. if he is already down low and has some support he can turn and reposition all he wants without falling over. then once attached you can move him back up towards the light.
