Crocea wont open up

Ok so ive got a 15g with a 150w 14k phoenix halide and I just got a really nice crocea.

for the first few days it was nice and open and seemed happy, but now it barly opens up at all. I tired to move it but it put its foot down.

Specs as of yesterday are
Nitrites -0
Nitrates - 2
phosphates - 0
amonia - 0
alk - 3.5
Calc - 450
Temp - 79
salinity - 1.024

I really dont see anything bothering it much, every few hours or so my pygme will peck some alge off the side of the shell but seems to be leaving the mantle alone.

any suggestions?

Any nitrites at all is not a good thing...thats weird how you have any at all..and is that a pygmy angel? That doesn't sound good.

thougth clams liked nitrates?

and yeah its a pygmy angle, but ive been watching him for an hour now and all he has done is pecked at the side of the shell, which makes him close for a sec, and he closes when a fish swims over him.

but he never seems to get more then 1/2 way open

Seems to me that it is afraid of predation. Also Clams like some Nitrates but not Nitrites which may indicate some Ammonia is generated and being converted. How old is your tank. Clams also like mature systems so there is more suspension feed in the water.

oh oops i put nitrites twice, last one is supposed to be nitrates..sorry

and the tank is 6 months old now, but rocks came from my old system that was over a year old, and some from a 400g that was 3 years old, so its pretty established. Other corals and SPS are doing great

and if its scared of getting nipped will it just keep doing that, or will it get used to it?
