I have been having some trouble with my Crocea. I got it about 3 weeks ago and it has for the most part been doing ok until this past week. I placed it on a nice rock on top of the sand bed and it opened up right away. The clam came attached to a small chip of rock. Probably chipped off of a bigger rock to save it from being ripped of that rock it had already attached itself to. I have been using Tahitian Blend daily along with calcium and alkalinity addition.
Over the past week, the mantle hasn't expanded past the lip of the shell. As a matter of fact it has actually reached farther back as the week progressed. It has kept tipping itself over on the rock. At first I thought it wasn't getting enough lighting so I moved it to the top of the tank where the 250 VHO MH offered sufficient lumination. However it stilled kept tipping itself over exposing its bissal gland. I then moved it back to the bottom of the tank right on to the sand bed and the same thing happened.
Anyone have any idea what I should do??
