Crocea's at Living Sea

Thought I'd pass this on, and if you don't get Living Sea Aquarium's emails for weekend specials, they have really nice crocea clams (approx 2-4") for $29.95 or 2 for $50. I picked up two last night, and they look real healthy and have great colors. I'm sure they won't last long.

that's a pretty good deal! they tried to sell me a baby one inch one for $50 once! man I was ready to stotm outta there... :D

just a head-up ... and i hate to sound like the owner of a rival LFS ... but the corals and anenomes at that place almost always appear to be dead or dying. i would trust putting that stuff in my tank. that one cube of theirs with SPS someties seems alive and happy, so if they are in there, maybe it is worth the risk

These were in the cube tank right where you walk back in the saltwater section (one that looks like the zero-edge aquarium, if you're familiar with that). I agree that the other tanks weren't looking that good, but the clams all looked healthy (no gaping, reacted to passing your hand over the tank, no pinched mantles).

that is the tank i was referring to. it is the only one with corals that appear to be almost healthy (it also appears to be self-contained) if they are healthy, that is definately a good deal and if you are happy with your purchase it is even better.

I bought two. I am debating whether to do the supplemental feeding or not. I have them in a 29g with two (2) 175 watt 14k mh and four (4) 32 watt actinic pc. I feed the tank Rod's food a couple of times a week.

I bought a clam from Living Sea at IMAC 2005. It has done great. It's the only SW livestock I've ever purchased from them ... no, not true, I got a cleaner shrimp from then once that did fine too. Wouldn't get anything else from them, though.

I also picked up a clam from Living Sea at IMAC 2005 that has done well. I also had 3 firefish that did well from there on a buy 1 get 2 free back in 2005 ... nothing purchased since then.
