crooked light

I have a couple of Razors that I hung over a tank I just set up. the power cords are situated so that they are in between the two light fixtures so that the control knobs are where they can be reached.
Problem...the 2 cords pull the fixtures cocked no matter how I move them. How do others run the cord from your lights to the rear and down so the fixtures hang freely and unstressed
Here are 2 shots as to what I mean.

For safety, not just aesthetics, you need to get those cords attached to the hangers above the lights, even if it means extension cords.
If the weight of the cords is causing the lights to tilt, it is also putting pressure where the cord connects to the light. This will lead to cord fraying and possibly expose bare wires. Not what you want around water.

When I had hanging lights I used zip ties and attached the cords to the vertical hanger line above where it 'vees off' to the fixture itself. That will balance the strain of the cords pulling on the light. Then I used plastic clips like for running cable along a baseboard to hold the cord on the wall, leaving some slack so the lights were not crooked.

Tank is looking good!

What he said, but for another reason. With your power cords resting against the side of the aquarium, you are asking for water to find it's way down to the power source. That could easily cause a fire.

Here's how I did mine:

even if power cords don't touch the tank, it's ALWAYS good to have a droop at the bottom of the cord such that any potential water drips down to the droop and off before the cable goes back upward towards the outlet ;)
