Cross Breeding Clowns??

:thumbsup: yes the term false percula is a little confusing!!

Ocellaris = "little laughing eye"

from "ocellus" small eye and "rideo/risi/risum" to laugh at/laugh

Percula = "little perch"

...and people say Latin isn't valuable :)

I. Put a maroon male in with my maroon female at same time into a new tank. The female didn't really take to well at first, but they seemed to be closer to getting along. I notice a day late the small male on the floor, he may have been chased out of tank(shame) . My original plan was to put in a black and white clown .so before the maroon really took ownership of the new tank I added a black and white male .The female took to him right away and they are paired up. I was expect a little more of a fight but after a few days not even a randompp nipping during feeding.The question is now will they breed.

I know old thread, but thought I should add my experience with this.

Well I guess its both Perc and Osc the Black would be Perc and Maroon Osc at least I think it's an Osc

i hate to be "that" guy, and please dont take too much offense..... but the fact that you dont even know the species, or the differences between them, says that you should probably research A LOT more before keeping them. let alone trying to breed them or even more so, trying to mis-match and hybridize them.
