Crosshatch help needed

My male crosshatch started acting strange yesterday.He went to a differant cave and has been staying ther most of the time. He came out to eat last night before lights out. Seemed to be havind a little difficulty swimming. Today spent most of the time in the cave again. Came out again for feeding, and was having more issues swimming. Seems not to be able to go forward or upand down well.Looks like he may be slightly bloated. I've had him for a about 3 months, and he never had any issues prior.He has been eating well, usally fed Rod's predator food, and Rod's krill plus.Don't see anything external, any help would be great.

First time with this fish. Didn't realize they needed such an extensive QT.
So is it too late to try and remove him and medicate?
I'm guessing Prazi pro would be they suggested option.
 
Set-up a 150 rubbermaid for QT. Filled it with DT tank water. Added a sponge filter, heater,Tunze for circulation, skimmer with top removed for more oxygen.
Got trigger in and dosed with Prazi pro.
What now, water changes after a few days and other meds?

You mentioned a sponge filter, is the sponge established with nitrifying bacteria? If not I'd add a bottle of instant ocean biospira. Ammonia will be a huge concearn otherwise and will kill the trigger.

Are there other fish in the display? If so they can be providing a host for any parasites that may be infecting the ch and they will have to be treated also. At this point I'd do a round of prazi for 5 days then remove with carbon and see if he comes around.
 
I've never personally kept chrosshatch triggers but have heard that months later issues appear especially in males. Humaguy would be a good person to ask for advice.
 
I've done the Pazi pro, per directions. Added some Bio Strata and AP quick start. I'm sure he is going to take awhile to adjust to new surroundings. He was hanging out under the tunze this morning. I'll see if i can get him to eat any krill or shrimp. He seems to like these best out of the mix in rod's predator food.
 
I'm guessing "fresh" seafod from the local grocer would be ok, or are there preservatives in this stuff?
Didn't have any luck with frozen food, I think he's still miffed about getting moved. Was still under the Tunze, added a few caves with live rock. He didin't seem very happy, pulled up the tunze to check on him, he did a few laps and spit water towards the surface. I'll let him calm done try food later.
 
yes, leave him alone for now...
no lights, try and keep him in a dark area....
fresh clam or shrimp from the seafood counter..

Fish still not eating.Hard to tell how he's doing, hiding all the time.Seems still to have some gusto though.
 
Probably will need more than one treatment of Prazipro. I usually do two 5-day treatments with a water change in between. Fish can go weeks without food as long as they have good fat stores. Hope he pulls through!

I did a 3 day, a water change because I was worried about him not eating, another dose yesterday. I'll let it go 4 more days and do another water change.
 
Well,
Couldn't get him to eat after daily water changes, bacteria additives, skimming and running carbon.
On saturday I lost the trigger.
