Just got these guys n from NYaquatic last friday. Having some trouble getting the male to eat. Will only eat Krill from my hand. But beautiful fish. The male is about 10" and the female a good 7".

Cool looking fish Russ! nice size for your big tank. I like that sailfin tang too.
Hmmm? whats that dark colored surgeon fish at 8 oclock from the sailfin in the bottom picture? I have a couple that look like that one. i bought them as very small, pale white, transparent fish from seranid terror when he was working at petco. they have grown up nice and healthy and now have a nice blue/black color with faint pinstripes, lengthwise, and freckles on the face. But i cant ID them. some kind of keyhole or kole tang i guess.

Bought as a Dussumieri from TPP, but looks more like a ringtail. Very active fish, more aggressive than the sailfin, but a beautiful fish. Look at some pictures of the two fish, very similar. The ringtail has a clear area of white just before the tail area with no color. The eye spots are fairly similar between the Dussumieri and Ringtail. A great fish none the less.

Hi Russ, well I'm still looking for a match for my fish. I don't think it's like yours, but I just may have found one like mine. my two mutt tangs now look very much like this one. the bristletooth tang. same shape and colors as mine. could be it. like the description says. good veggie eaters.

just found these searching the web. same light pinstripes, and gold ring around the pupils, and slight yellow tinge to the edge of fins. two white dot nostrils. yup, i think this might be them. active swimmers too.

it's a 500 display 108x36x30 with about 250G of sump space in the basement. I found a good deal on these guys. Expensive yes, but not $800 expensive.
