crosshatch need help

anybody knows what's on his fin? i tried melafix it got better a little bit. is it somekind of bacterial infection? he's had it for 3weeks now but everything seemd to be normal and he's eating very well. any help would be appreciated...

melafix and primafix are trash...get antibiotics from your lfs...

Not being an expert on fish disease my guess would be lymphocystis (viral). If that's the case, in my experience there is no 'cure'. I have had a couple of fish with lymphocystis in the past and I just did my best to keep the water quality excellent in the tank and feed them enriched foods. The tumors eventually went away or tore away from the fins, which healed in time. If it is lymphocystis I believe it can spread to other fish as well, although that's never happened in my cases.

mothra i think you right about lymphocystis. i really hope it doesn't spread in my tank. does anybody else have any experience on lymphocystis?
