Here is a video of mine I had posted in the aggressive forum recently....I have had them since May 1.

Nice pics. Crosshatches are very beautiful. I have a pair of Bluethroats, just as cool except u don't have to drop half a grand for them. lol Improve coloration? :rollface: They're incredibly colorful as it is..

Nope, it just appears that he's not full-size? Guessing around 6"-7" or so? When he grows up a bit more, the 'true' vibrant coloration should come in.My Crosshatch trigger male
His body color becomes yellow when he is angry but Normally the body color is not yellow. Is there something wrong?
Or He needs a girl friend?

here is a picture of the crosshatch that i got about 2 months ago, not the best pic. i'm curious about best foods for this fish's coloration too. i'm feeding original rod's food, mysis, (3) different kinds of flake and nori. The fish eats all of it. it doesn't eat nori from the clip but if a piece gets torn off by the tangs he'll eat it.

IDK Aquaknight, his male is the same size as mine, yet mine has FAR more yellow coloration as you can see in the video, and female friend. Gotta believe the female might have something to do with it.

Here's a pic of my Crosshatch being almost vertical, behind a rock but in front of a power head..... is that normal? I've read that they like lots of current.

love my xhatches! they sleep next to each other every night and often i see spawning dances which i videotaped in my Main thread http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1726744&page=12 here is a pic of the pair
The male's color changes alot when doing the spawning dance check it out on the video

I've been treating my QT tank with Prazipro and I noticed that my Crosshatch is hiding more than usual and not eating as much as before treating. Is that normal?
Next week I get a 6" female for him, any advice in how to introduce them in a 55 gallon QT tank? He has been there for 3 weeks, wonder if he is going to be too territorial.
Should I divide the tank with egg crate so they can check each other out first or not?

If its not to late I would hold off on the female till you get the male in the main tank. I had a male and female in a 125 treatment tank and the male beat the crap out of her and she died.
Any type of treatment can have an effect on a fish. I did not notice that with mine. THey would eat like normal during all my treatments. How many days have you been running the Prazi? All other parameters in the QT are good? Was it well established before you added the crosshatch?

Tomorrow will be 5 full days, I intend to do a 50% water change and re-dose for another 5 days.
All parameters are normal, I test for pH, ammonia and salinity everyday and all is good.
Tank was established with seeding cup of gravel, 2 sponge filters from a established eel tank plus 50% of the initial water was from that same eel tank.
Ok, so you suggest to put the male in the DT 1st, then QT the female and then introduce her in the DT? Won't the male be too territorial in the DT as well? I can divide them with egg crate in the 55 but it'll be a little tight or I can set up a 30 gallon QT just for the female. It won't be cycled but I can put some gravel, transfer one of the sponge filter from the 55 QT and add Bio-Spira to help with the bacteria. What do you think?
Are they always that aggressive towards the female? I thought that they pair up pretty easily. The place where I got the male, he told me that it's done all the time.
By next week, my DT will be fallow for 7 weeks. Is that enough fallow time?

Well the fallow period depends on wjo you ask.....Some say 8 weeks some like myself say 10-12 weeks. I prefer longer to be on the safe side. Your call on that one......
In my case when I added the female to the DT I had no trouble at all. I figured I had a better chance adding the female to the display because there was more areas for her to hide if there was an issue.
I was instructed by a person that I respect very much to always do as close to 100% water change with fish in QT. The better you keep the water quality the better the fish will be. I can't say that logic has failed me yet. Everytime I listen to this person things always turn out for the best.
Its your call how you do it I know I did not have luck putting the male and female in QT together.....Maybe it was a rare thing that they did not get along.....Your call.
