crushed coral or sand

would a peacock mantis like crushed coral or live sand better??thanks and how deep should it be??

Well mine has both and he likes it a lot. I would suggest a layer of fine sand on the bottom and the crushed coral on top. He likes to pick up the coarse sand a lot and rearrange his entrance.

I wouldn't go too deep, as your mantis may bury uneaten food. If its very deep you may not get it out or even know about it. An inch or so should be good.
