cryptocaryon- a question for storekeepers

is it possible to wipe out crypto (marine ich) from a system without tearing the tank down?? don't judge i didnt let this beast into our system, im just the cashier! haha

Considering the posted stated storekeeper....I made the assumption this was for a store. I also made the assumption that most stores keep inverts and corals on different systems then fish. That being said....is why I stated to use copper.

ok here is exactly what we are talking about.... 120 gallon system consisting of 12 ten gallon aquariums connected, UV sterilization, not quite sure all filtration used but I can tell that there is a lot of biological material, prefilters, (doesnt look like protein skimmer) and sump. also the problem is that there is cleaner shrimp (not corals anemones etc. those are in separate tank) any "reef safe" crypto meds that actually work :) ?

No reef safe options that work. Can the inverts be removed? I would run the 12 - 10 gallon tanks on there own system with copper. Then have a seperate system for inverts and corals. Is this possible?

I'm with you, remove any inverts and hit it with cupramine, should be Crypt free in about 2-3 weeks.

the med that i used is shown below, its fishvet no ich. it seems pretty common. but i can't even find what the components are!! is malachite green (i think thats what kills ich too??) toxic to inverts too?? also does anyone have any experience with this product?? thank god this isn't my tank i would never let this happen!!

Yes some people try to treat crypt with formalin. It does not work but they try. If you want your system crypt free......REMOVE the inverts and run copper in the system. Cuprmaine is a copper product made by Seachem that is safer on fish then regular copper. Reef safe treatments like the one you have pictured will not work....No reef safe product will work.

OH and you must be a real small store if you never heard of Cuprmaine.......Give Seachem a call maybe you can carry there products for your customers.

ok so they never ever work under any circumstance?! does anyone have a clue whats in them because we were joking the other day than it must be RO/DI water lol

thanks guys!!
