Anyone know a lot about the Ctenochaetus flavicauda, or White tail bristletooth tang? I've heard that they are essentially identical to the kole tang, minus their coloration. There's a bristletooth that looks like them from the red sea that gets around a foot, but the one Im talking about is from Tahiti.
I also heard their color changes as they age, but I can't find any info on that.
Any info on the species would be awesome!

DD has them about once a month or so available. There is actually a large one available thru LA. They look very similar to the Kole, minus the white tail. The red is brighter than the Kole too

Does the color change as they age?

They are bright yellow as small juveniles and grow into their deep red coloration. I have one and they are really a stunning fish, the white tail contrasts the body very nicely. The fish shouldn't become any less colorful with age, unlike something like a chevron.
