Not soon enough...
And I'm using part of it on the camera and the other part on T5s for the 20L frag tank.
Then, hopefully, I will be able to get some pieces that match my mates in Aussie and UK.
Sounds perfect! I'm assuming you'll be tying in the 20L into the existing system? That actually sounds like the perfect plan IMO.
I may be jumping the gun, but it sounds like this...

Get frag tank....check...
Buy a few killer frags (that blows ours outta the water)....check...
Watch them settle and grow...check..
Transfer to new big tank with nice sized pieces in 2015.....done!...
Given what you've accomplished on your Nano so far....damn, that'll look great!
- I'm hoping I never have to deal with it either. But I'm worried about it. That's why I've been taking all this time during the build to try and read and study up on some dipping methods. Along with thinking about a coral QT... but I don't know if I can manage to pull that one off or not.
Right now, I've been reading up a bit on this Bayer dip method. I should be able to get that fairly easily here. So that has me interested. Same with this RO dip method all of you are testing out ;-) I already have a bottle of Revive. That is what I used on the 2 shrooms and the zoas we started out with. For now though, it's lots of reading on all this and trying to figure out a good "routine" to have established when I start going coral crazy!
Don't worry too much about it now, reading up is good though. Bayer seems to be the preferred method in your part of the world

. It's odd but the easier to keep softies and lps have even lesser pests...Sigh... Coral QT is good, and I guess you could use your fish QT (after proper rinsing of course) to serve as a coral QT as well. Either way, you'll be buying smallish frags, so careful examination will go a long way
The only softie problems have had, is zoa pox and brown jelly on LPS. However, I don't think that these are common. So you should be good, and you now have no bloody excuse for not stocking up!!!
-Plotting tank warfare strategy. Patience young grasshopper, your time will come. . .
Right now, I have to get rid of a massive cyano infestation before I even think about any sticks. But a few sticks with a fish in my DT would be a joyous occasion! :celeb3:
- I think you're mistaken. Biggles has the great barrier reef in his tank (in whichever room it's in). And I don't need to be greedy. I'll take a SMALL piece of that millie. If you send it to me, it'll be my 1st sps in the tank :smokin: And it's by far my favorite of some of the latest pics!
Here's a quick water question... If I remember, you mix your water with Red Sea Regular. But what/where do you get your water to mix with? RO/DI? RO?
I have an RO/DI unit, but hadn't installed the DI cartridge yet. Now that the tank is all filled up, I need to get that going. I'm guessing the bit of TDS that is coming through in the RO only is part of my nusiance issue.
Ah, cyano...my favourite :furious:
Well, now that you mention it, so we have a possible PO4 issue and as well as TDS. I'd assume the PO4 issue would weigh in greater here, but for TDS...my 2 cents..
Hook up the DI unit asap. BUT buy the HM Digital DM-2: Commercial In-Line Dual TDS Monitor!! 2 TDS probes, one just after the RO and before the DI, and the other after DI. Rig it this way and you'll be golden
I do use a 5 stage RO/DI unit, with Sediment->carbon->RO->DI->DI config. So top off/water change water is always TDS 0 only, works well for me
Well, young Padawan, hurry up you must
