Cubed & Squared

Sorry to hear things are still dragging along without much to smile about mate. :(

Just when things were back on track i finally decided to set up that dosing machine i bought many months back  I used the last of my salt to save the fish in a clean sump section as the tank had a mini cycle so most of the stuff in the pic is now dead as well, the flubber is alive but i couldn't care less tbh. You're not alone in your reef misery Bello :fun5:

Oh no biggles not you as well :headwalls: so sad to see buddy! If I can be of any assistance just sing out :(

Man Biggles that is a picture of sadness:( soo sorry to see and hear that it is going pear shaped.:(

OMG biggles, I don't know what to say :(... this sucks :(... We've both just had a horrible run over the last year :(.

Jon, Scott, Mark, Biggles, Troub & Fishy, thanks for the support guys

I still have some STN, but not too much. Lost a few bits here and there, was forced to chop my Yellow acro into tiny bits, which really sucked. I still need to lower my nutrients, I doubt I'm running the biopellets correctly....will need to figure that out.

Acro colors are waaayyyyy off at the moment. Obviously, Monti's, Seri's etc are all thriving with growth.... It's just the damned acros!! Since the tank looked depressing, I decided to rescape the tank....again...for entertainment ....

Basically, I'm still struggling to get things right and stable again, so haven't really updated. Hopefully soon................thanks for the support guys

Bello buddy, wish i was closer and i could help in any way i could:(
Especially in the aquascape and the encouraging part.

I know you won't give up cause you love reefing and you are darn good at it!!!

Can't wait to see your new scape!
What do you think you are doing wrong regarding bp's?Too much or low flow? Many or few ml?

Biggles i'm sooooo sad to see this pic but what i said to bello goes to you too buddy!
I'm sure you will take your time and bounce back before kevin comes back from his trip to sabotage bello's tank!:p
Just kidding.

Guys what i've seen is that reefing has more sad moments than happy ones, but every time we overcome a misfortune we show ourselves how much we love the hobby:inlove:
Ohhhhh....enough philosophy....wear your reefing shoes and start running again:beer:

Hey Bello, sorry that you are going through this at the moment. Looks like you and Biggles and myself are the 3 SPS coral musketeers.

Hang in there buddy, you've battled Acropora Eat Monsters...you can get through this as well.

Update up when you can.

Hey buddy, I hope all is on the improve:).
Like sahin said, update us on what's happening when you can:beer:

I got a pm from him a couple of days ago, here's what he had to say. Hope you don't mind me sharing whats going on Bello:)

letting the tank do whatever the hell it wants to :p

The tank is nuts, spent a lot of time to have it recover from the flame angels nipping, I actually even rescaped one tank again....and then found out that I still have AEFW's!!!!! :furious:. I pretty much need a break from the tank, so I just let it be for now :). Let's see what happens with me doing minimal work :p.

Yeah, just plugging along :p. I won't be posting for a bit cos I feel guilty if I don't reply to everyone :p, issues :p.

I still make sure the basic stuff gets done, just seeing what happens when I try being lazy :p. Haven't bought a new coral in months, so at least I've saved money :p.

Yep, that's about it :). Thanks for summarizing Fishy :p

Now that I've gotten AEFW again (guess it never really went off, despite my efforts), I'm seriously lacking motivation. So that's where I am right now, minimal effort, just testing for alk regularly and doing the basics. Can't really post any pics, since I need to really clean up :p

Sorry to hear Bello.

I refuse to deal with Montipora Eating Nudis and am letting them consume the montis ... new places to mount acros! AEFW I find easier to deal with, so maybe you can give it another go? Buy some dental tools, 3X reading glasses, and some Bayer insecticide, dose 1ML per cup of saltwater, let them die and fall off while inspecting and scraping the acros for the eggs.

I know, a crap ton of work, but it's easy enough to type up. I hope you can get back into the swing of things!

Arrrrrgghhhh!!! Sorry Bello...those damn AEFW's...:angryfire: I wish the AEFW in tank treatment existed right now...

I dont know Bello, but not dealing with the AEFW's will mean one thing: eventually they will kill ALL your Acros. You have THREE options:

1. Do nothing and in time all your acros will die off due to AEFW...long process too...

2. Treat tank, but QT and dip every five days until no further AEFW are found

3. If you are planning to do no 1 then you might as well give the acros to a friend or something to treat...or even chuck away...seriously if you dont have the time and energy to treat them maybe someone else can do it? Or chuck them away and start afresh and this time QT every single acro that you buy.
Having dealt with them many times in the past I know just how draining it can be...

Anyway buddy, I dont expect a reply to this post; just hope you dont give up on the hobby and stick with it.

Sorry to here about your issues bud..how about just take this as a sign to upgrade and start over..its always nice to start a new build, if not just do what you can to beat this you can do it bud.

Hang in there mate. Just do the bare minimum until you get the reefing flame burning again:). It seems to be my turn for a dose of bad luck. I bought a green bubble tip nem and that night he got sucked into biggles's wp25 and got minced and to add to that, the same night that the GBTA got minced my first Acro RTN'ed on me so now I have four frags that seem to be holding on. When it rains it pours as they say:facepalm:. Now that Murphy has done his magic I should be problem free for a while now:)

Aw shucks Bello, that's a real kick in the nuts bud. Turkey basters, maxijet, and a trip to your local for a bunch of wrasse (if they don't do much at least the placebo will keep your mind off it that little bit more!)

Hello Bello. How are things? Are you still lying on the couch thinking what to do with tank? :hmm5:

Hey there bud, how's life!?

I'm joining the "where's bello" chorus now because I miss my disco-light LED buddy! I feel all alone out here. :smokin:

How are things looking as the dust settles? Kind of like watching a bad paint job dry?

Or is the bad stuff all painted over with pretty colors again!?! That sure would be sweet to see. :eek2:

 Here's hoping things are on the mend and getting fun again :-)
