Ok we are needing to purchase a really good clean up crew for the nano and the 100 gallon. Rick is afraid to order right now due to the killer heat we are having. Our question is, is it safe to order CUC online with this heat going on? I would think that whatever company you order from right now would take the time to insure that you receive what you ordered in the best condition. Has anyone ordered live stock recently and received them in A ok condition? Where is the best place to order CUC online from?

I just received my CUC yesterday, was shipped priority ups?, 2-3 day thingie. took right at 3 days. everything seems alrighty so far.

I went with Reefcleaners.org and I'm very happy with what I got.

I ordered last month in the middle of the 110deg stuff from both reefcleaners.org and reefs2go.com I only had minimal loss from from reefs2go but reefcleaners was fine. Order away!

What's your favorite critter in clean up crew?

Snails-- what kind?

Hermits-- which ones?

Anything unusual?

What I have to watch out for are things that bulldoze frags in the frag tank-- Many are on frag plugs in the sand.

I like astrea and/or trochus snails, a turbo or 2, nassarius snails and a fighting conch for the sand, and no hermits. Certiths also did some good work for me in the past, but my astrea snails seem to live longer.

tubos are probably out of the question for you because they're such bulldozers, but they sure do some good work on tank algae.

I forsee me utilizing the dwarf cerith snails a lot more in the future, I've always gone for the larger ceriths snails but these little guys I picked up from reefcleaners are amazing. Even though I also have astreas, nerites, and a turbo, I think the tiny ceriths are doing the majority of the workload in the tank. Keeping my rock and sandbed fairly clean. have some nassarius too but their not algae eaters but they do seem to do their job nicely when I feed and nobody else comes out to eat.
