Cupramine help!

I'm getting ready to start dosing cupramine for the first time in my QT. I will be treating a small lunare wrasse and sailfin tang, both are fat, eating well and have no signs of disease. After getting ich in my display tank nothing will go in without treatment.

My questions are what is the dose I need to maintain? I've heard .5ppm may be too much.

Also I threw a couple pieces of live rock in the QT to help with seeding bacteria. Should I remove those before dosing? I know when using regular copper you are supposed to but wasn't sure about cupramine.

Thanks[emoji106]

You need 0.25 to 0.30 ppm.
Yes, remove the live rock as it will absorb some of the copper. That makes the treatment ineffective and ruins the live rock forever.
And since the carbonates in the water also bind with copper it's best to get a copper test kit to check and adjust the copper levels at least once a day.
