I've done both types of light cycles in the past decade, and my normal variety of Caulerpa racemosa has never sporulated.

1 week in with Curprisorb, and dino seems to be on the retreat. I put in the Cuprisorb, shut my lights down for 1 day, and drained the tank down to spot treat with peroxide. Ive left my 2 Blue+ T5's off and only been running my 2 Vega LED's (at my normal intensity). My case of Dino is mild judging by some pics I've seen, and I still have a few small patches. But, I feel like the Cuprisorb is doing something because Ive tried the black outs, the peroxide, and ultra algae X, without seeing the results I'm seeing now. Id suggest trying it on Dino, its practically free and has no risk.
Hows everyone else who's trying to Cuprisorb fairing?
BTW, I'm using the bag rated for 60G, on my 40 Breeder w/ 29G sump.

Well I reduced flow from my overflow.
I used a whole bottle of that BMW
I think what has helped the most was siphon the sand bed. Getting the stringy dino stuff out. Once a week
And hopefully the cuprisorb works too.
Still doing my water changes once a week 5g

Glad to hear that others are having success with Cuprisorb.
Those of you who have had success you might want to check equipment for rust. This is what lead me to running Cuprisorb. I had a pump that was rusting badly in my sump. I did a search for Iron + dinoflagellets and stumbled on a old post about someone claiming cuprisorb curing there tank. I tried everything to kill it including peroxide so I figured what the heck lets try cuprisorb....sure enough it worked.

Ok I think this whole cupisorb started with something I posted a long time ago..
I battled dino's for a long time way back when.
I never used the product to get rid of dino's though. I dont think the product was even available and not even sure Seachem existed yet at least they were not selling products in the states. Thats how long ago I dealt with them..
The hole idea came from:
In my area for a while people were either battling hair algae or other bad algae or dino's..
Those that kept lower nutrients had dino's and those that didn't had other types of bad algae mainly hair...
The whole cuprisorb thing came from something I posted years latter because the one thing we all had in our water in high concentrations was iron... So maybe iron was the common thing... I had stated if iron was what helped fuel them maybe a product like cuprisorb might help slow them down by removing iron. I never used it for them though because I dont think it existed yet.. But hey if it turns out to help people that is awsume...

I think we can figure this out once Two Little Fishes Metasorb product comes out. This stuff changes colors depending on the metal it absorbs....so if someone were to try this product and have success they maybe able to tell what metal was removed.
If I had to guess on my issue I would say it was iron because I had horrible rust a pump. Then again I am no chemist and the rust could of been Iron and other metals being released

I also would not assume that because it is the metal that gives a filter its color, that it must be what was elevated and caused dino problems. As I've mentioned, I've dosed iron for years and never had a dino problem, as have many others.
